Inkwell Data / Ready for Shopify
Get your products ready for Shopify
Have a product list in Excel, a supplier feed or another shop's export? Match its columns to Shopify's product fields, and download a CSV that Shopify's importer accepts. Prices are cleaned, handles are made for you, and problems are flagged before you import.
How it works
Add your file and we match its columns to Shopify's fields by name: Title, Description, Vendor, Price, SKU, Inventory quantity, image URL and more. Change any match, or set a value for every row, such as Status = draft.
The file follows Shopify's current product CSV layout. Only Title is required for new products. If you don't have a handle column we make one from the title; rows that share a handle become variants of one product.
In Shopify admin, go to Products → Import and choose the downloaded file.

Questions
Which Shopify columns are supported?
Title, URL handle, Description, Vendor, Product category, Type, Tags, Published on online store, Status, SKU, Barcodes, Option1 name and value, Price, Compare-at price, Cost per item, Inventory quantity, Weight value (grams), Product image URL, SEO title and SEO description. Fields you leave out are left out of the file.
What does it fix automatically?
Prices like "$1,299.00" become 1299, yes/no becomes true/false, statuses are lowercased, and handles are made URL-safe. Anything that still looks wrong is listed before you download.
Is this an official Shopify tool?
No. It is an independent free tool that writes files in the layout Shopify documents for product imports. Always review the preview Shopify shows before confirming an import.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. Your file is read by your own browser and reshaped on your device. Nothing is sent to us or to Shopify.
