Your files

Inkwell Data is a static website. When you choose a file, your browser reads it and all processing happens on your device using JavaScript and WebAssembly. Your data is not sent to Inkwell Tools or to anyone else, and it is gone when you close or reload the page.

Two features keep something in your browser's own storage, on your device only. Saved recipes in the Transform tool store the list of steps you chose (never your data) until you delete them. Keep going, which opens a result in another tool, puts a copy of that result in your browser's storage for the moment it takes to switch pages, and deletes it as soon as the next tool opens it. Neither is ever sent to Inkwell Tools.

What the website loads

Every script, font and the DuckDB engine is served from this site. A few advanced SQL functions may ask DuckDB to download an add-on from duckdb.org; those downloads contain program code only, never your data. Inkwell Data does not load third-party trackers, ads or analytics scripts, and it does not set cookies.

Like any website, our hosting provider (Netlify) keeps standard server logs of page requests, such as IP address and browser type, for security and reliability. Those logs never include the contents of your files.
