Inkwell Data / Data profiler
Profile your data
Get to know a new dataset in seconds. For every column: its likely type, how many values are blank, how many are distinct, the range, and the most common values, with flags for likely problems.
How it works
Add a file and Inkwell Data scans every row. Each column gets a card showing its detected type (whole number, decimal, date, true/false or text), completeness, distinct count, min and max, average for numbers, and the top values.
Flags point out things worth a second look: columns with mixed types, stray spaces, values that are all unique (likely IDs) or a single value repeated everywhere. You can download the whole profile as a CSV.
Questions
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. Your file is read by your own browser and processed on your device. There is no server receiving your data, no account, and nothing is stored after you close the tab.
What is data profiling?
Profiling summarizes what is actually inside a dataset: types, missing values, ranges and common values. It is the first step data analysts take before cleaning, reporting or loading data anywhere.
How is the column type detected?
Each non-blank value is checked. If at least 95% look like whole numbers, decimals, dates or true/false, the column gets that type. Otherwise it is text. Mixed columns are flagged.
Can I export the profile?
Yes. "Download profile" saves one row per column with all the statistics, which is handy for documentation or a data dictionary.
