Get your contacts ready for Google Contacts

Google Contacts only understands its own column names, like "E-mail 1 - Value" and "Address 1 - City". Match your columns once and download a file Google imports without losing emails, phones or addresses.

How it works

Add your file and we match it to Google's contact fields: names, email, phone, organization, address, birthday, notes and labels. Email and phone labels (such as Work or Mobile) are filled in for you, birthdays become YYYY-MM-DD, and several labels are joined the way Google separates them.

Google imports up to 3,000 contacts at a time, so bigger lists download as several files. Go to contacts.google.com → Import and choose the file.

Questions

Why did my last import lose the emails?

Google only reads columns with its exact names, such as "E-mail 1 - Value". A column just called "Email" is ignored. This tool writes Google's names for you.

Is this an official Google tool?

No. It is an independent free tool that follows Google's published CSV template.

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. Your file is read by your own browser and reshaped on your device.
