Inkwell Data / File converter / CSV to JSON
Convert CSV to JSON
Convert CSV rows into a JSON array of records, or JSON Lines, ready for an API, a script or a NoSQL import.
How it works
Each row becomes an object keyed by the header. With “Detect numbers and true/false” ticked, 42 is written as a number and true as a boolean, while codes with leading zeros stay as strings. Choose JSON Lines (NDJSON) in the format list for one record per line.
Drop your CSV file above, check the preview, and click Convert & download. JSON is already selected, but you can pick any other format from the list.

Questions
Will numbers be quoted?
Not if “Detect numbers and true/false” is ticked (it is by default). Values with leading zeros, like 00123, stay as strings so they are not changed.
How are empty cells written?
As null when numbers are detected, or as empty strings if you untick that option.
Can I get one record per line?
Yes. Pick JSON Lines (NDJSON) in the Convert to list.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. The conversion happens in your own browser. There is no server receiving your data, no account and no daily limit.
