Inkwell Tools is an independent family of focused, privacy-respecting instruments, each built to do one job well. Some run entirely in your browser; others are backed by a lean, privacy-first service. Either way, the goal is the same: fast, fair utility without the surveillance.
Inkwell Tools is built to deliver genuinely useful tools at fair, sustainable value. The motive behind the project is straightforward: revenue funds scholarships for the education of deserving BIPOC students across academia, the arts, the trades, and technology — disciplines where opportunity gaps remain stubbornly wide. Every subscription, in a small but real way, contributes to closing them.
An inkwell is a classic writing instrument — a vessel for record-keeping and for the marks you leave behind. “The Inkwell” is also the historic name of iconic beaches and gathering spaces — most famously on Martha’s Vineyard — that served as safe havens for Black Americans during segregation: places of rest, joy, community, and excellence that existed outside the reach of systemic exclusion. The name bridges everyday utility with cultural heritage. The Inkwell Toolkit exists to promote BIPOC excellence and to improve educational outcomes for minority communities — because every tool we build should leave a mark worth making.
