Inkwell Data / JSON viewer
JSON viewer & validator
Paste or drop JSON to check it, see exactly where it breaks (with a hint about why), format or minify it, browse it as a collapsible tree, or open it as a table to convert to Excel or CSV.
How it works
Paste JSON or drop a .json file. It is checked as you type: valid JSON shows as a tree you can expand, and invalid JSON shows the line and column of the problem, with a plain-English hint such as a missing comma or a trailing comma.
Use Format to indent it, Minify to squeeze it onto one line, or Sort keys to put every object's keys in order. Lists of records can be opened as a table in Convert, Profile, Transform, SQL or Summarize.
Questions
Does it handle JSON Lines?
Yes. A file with one JSON object per line (.jsonl or .ndjson) is recognized and shown as a list.
How big a file can it open?
Files up to 50 MB. The tree shows the first few thousand values so the page stays fast; Format and Open as a table work on the whole file.
Is my JSON sent anywhere?
No. It is checked and formatted by your own browser. Nothing is uploaded, which matters for API responses with tokens or customer data.
